Well, how did your team go in round one? There were certainly a few surprises in terms of the results. And there were also many eye opening performances that give hints into the year ahead for Supercoach. Let's take a look at a few.
A gutting injury for the young superstar, and a blow to the plans of many supercoaches early on. Not only do they need to burn a trade to move him on, but his sell price does not lend itself to an easy sideways trade. Some coaches may find themselves looking for a downgrade cash bank by considering players like Sam Berry or even a Jordan Clark.
The major sticking point for many coaches is the awkward position Dangerfield has put them in. The bump has earnt him a 3 week ban, a very uncomfortable absence for holding him. With the other forward / mid premos in Zorko, Dunkley and Dusty all firing, it may be an easy switch for those who want to pull the trigger.
All expectations for cash cows preseason were for the like of Powell, Bruhn and Brockman, to name a few. However not many expected Gulden to score a ton. If you don't have him, it will be a priority to get him in.
Another player that blew us away with a whopping 140pts was the GWS ruckman in his first game. He did send scares through the camp with a rolled ankle but recovered and piled on a score we'd usually associate with Gawn and Grundy. Will face Meek this week, who had the tough task of taking on Max Gawn.
Anyone who saw the interview with Reiwoldt would have been nothing but convinced the the hunger was still their for Martin. And boy did he show it. A 150+ score that is hopefully a sign of things to come.
A very promising performance from the former number one pick who has been a steadily improving prospect as a premo mid. Showed all the signs that he will establish himself as a solid 100s scorers from week to week. Coaches who selected him will be satisfied.
Most coaches look to Cripps when considering Carlton mid premos. However, it appears Walsh may be the new Supercoach king down at Carlton as he turned on a full four quarter running performance. With all the attention going to Cripps, he may just run riot in 2021.
Somewhat the forgotten premo in Supercoach, Mitchell showed he is back in full flight with a performance that will attract many suitors.
